Didn't make clear that I had effectively taken a loan out with them as they had paid my insurance for the year rather than the monthly that i had agreed to. My motorbike was stolen so I cancelled my policy but, having taken a loan I didn't realise I had taken, I faced cancellation fees of roughly 400. Wouldn't recommend this company if you aren't 100% sure you're bike won't get stolen or have to cancel the policy mid-term. Very unhappy.
Excellent experience with Lexham. Always can get through to them. Cancelled a policy after selling my bike and it was effortless. They were great when i needed to insure my first bike on a learner licence.
I was appalled at the service I received. I was phoned up with two weeks to go for my renewal, I agreed to go with the new premium of circa 740 the person on the phone said that this amount would automatically be taken on by bank card on the due date since I had agreed to automatic renewal. If there were any problems I would be called. I cam back from holiday to discover a letter to say that they couldn't take the money out on the card for some reason so the insurance had run out. I phoned up within 48 hors of the insurance ending to renew and was quoted a fee 100 higher. I complained but was told there was nothing I could do about it. I am going to warn everyone about this poor service. If someone got in contact with me to discuss my complaint it would be appreciated. Regards John Dyer-Grimes
Overall excellent experience. Originally insured my 125 for a reasonable price, upgraded to a 600 halfway through the year (which ended up being quite expensive). That being said, my bike was stolen in August, and 3 weeks later I received a payout. In general the staff at Lexham were great, and the staff I spoke to at Marble Arch (insurance providers) were so friendly and helpful.Minus one star for the ridiculous 'industry standard' fees for changing details, and the rude staff I dealt with when I first called up to make a claim on the 24 hour hotline.
